was invited to participate in a project called "Spacebook" that took
the idea of online social networks and profiles and moved them into
real space and involved a potluck dinner for your profile friends. It
was a really interesting experiment and examination of real and online
social networks. Look for an article in the upcoming Cantanker magazine this spring. This project has me thinking a lot about social networking, identity, and personal interaction... tradition that I also show something as faculty. The students work

Party on the Vanguard. This will be a live art installation and show
that will be performed on the 20th, and then completed and shown on the

July 13, 2008:"Multipantiplication" Showcase + Public Participation, Sunday July 13th from 10 am to 10 pm at Co-Lab,
a new media project space. Several artists and I will be creating work
on the walls and all over the space and then viewers will be able to
react to the work by painting or drawing or stapling or whatever they
feel like on the walls and work. It should be interesting. My daughter
will also be collaborating in the space by coloring and painting on the
finished work.
July 11 and 12, 2008:"Night Owl & Early Bird" a fundraiser and auction. Friday the 11th, Big Medium (Bolm Studios)
will be holding a fundraising event called "Night Owl" where artists
can come and create artwork for auction the next day in "Early Bird" on
Saturday the 12th from 10am to 1pm. I will be donating a piece or two
for the auction, and I will probably come by and do some work on the
spot Friday for "Night Owl" May 23, 2008:
American YouthWorks Spring art show at the Downtown Warehouse at 4th
and Brazos from 6 till 9pm. There is going to be lots of great student
work and quite a few professional artist's work as well. I put some
work in as a tradition as well. I think I may do something quite large,
perhaps a collaboration. Swing by to find out. May 17 - June 1, 2008: "5 x 7 Art Splurge and Exhibition" art sale, fundraiser, and exhibit at Arthouse

issue 5 release party from 6-9 pm on April 12th. There is a lot going
on in the space so you should go by several times. See if you can spot

American YouthWorks Fall art show. I ended up posting this a little
late, but the students still deserve a mention. I'm proud of them. I
have a few pieces in this as faculty. Look for the spring show in May.
Pictures are here. September 29, 2007: The Cantanker Magazine issue 3 1/2 party is at Women & Thier Work at 1710 Lavaca, Austin, Tx 78701 from 7 -10 pm Saturday. September 18, 2007: I posted some new work in the gallery section. I did these 12 Self Portraits yesterday in graphite and cyanotype. August 08, 2007: I have been notified my work has been chosen to be printed in the new issue of Cantanker Magazine, #3 1/2. July 26, 2007: I finally updated my site a bit. I added some more paintings and a drawing to the Oedipus gallery. I also created two new galleries for two series of drawings I am working on. They are at Half Lives and Things. July 8, 2007: This guy may turn out interesting. It is a project based on the concept of "Everyman vs the World", building up to an installation or two in the fall.
June 19, 2007: I will be one of four artists talking about my work in the "Slide Jam" at Women and Their Work here in Austin at 7pm. Here is the evite for your viewing pleasure. American Youthworks Art Show Spring 2007. I participated in this art
show (I'm faculty) with a small sculpture / drawing. Opening 6 pm to 9

I updated the site a bit. I put some preliminary photos and drawings up
in a new gallery to go with the "Suburban Homes" theme from the
Bio-Fucked show. I also put up a Flash based intro to that gallery with
chopped up text from the statement. You can check it out here.
May 12, 2007 - June 3, 2007: Two things: I met some cool people in San Antonio at the opening at vtrueand
I wanted to give a heads up about their upcoming shows. First there is
"The Postcard Diaries of Mark Mothersbaugh (of DEVO)" at FL!GHT Gallery at 1906 South Flores in S.A. and the next show I heard about is on May 18th at Bihl Haus Arts,
2803 Fredericksburg called "Artist's Proof: Five Artists Pushing
Print". Met some cool people down there. Justin Parr runs FL!GHT and
has a cool piece in the "Bio-Fucked" show, Kristy Perez is one of the
artists doing the "Artist's Proof", and I also enjoyed talking to
Judith Cottrell and Gary Smith at vtrue. So, if anybody's going to San Antone...
May 11, 2007 - June 2, 2007: "Bio-Fucked" at vtrue artspace
in San Antonio. I have a sculptural installation in this group show.
Come on down to the opening on May 11 from 6pm to 10pm or so. Here is
the e-vite and press release, and here is a picture or two of the unfinished work. I'll explain later and create a section under the "Galleries" portion of the site. May 12, 2007: I had a little fun collaborating and doing some cd art for the band Mandible for their new record. Check Almost There Records
for more current info. I hear May 12th for the cd release with a
release party at the Hole in the Wall on May 18th. I also hear that you
can buy the tunes on iTunes soon if not already. March 1, 2007 - April 15, 2007: "Texas
Biennial 2007" I had to mention this. I don't have any work in it but
there is some great Texas art on display. You can find out more at the Texas Biennial website. William Hundley has some photos at the Bolm Studios site.
